The video Present Tense is an unhurried piece which aims to make the viewer reflect on cherished but distorted memories, loss and their own mortality. It consists of 18 mono prints which almost imperceptibly change and which create a countless number of portraits.
The mono prints stem from the original oil paintings which were based on the last photograph of my father. The prints and the video are the only remains of the original portraits as these did not survive this process.
