PS2 Short Residency in Belfast, 12th-16th of October by Dorota Borowa

It was a real privilege to be awarded a short residency at PS2 in Belfast which suited my needs so perfectly. The roof allowed me to experiment on a larger scale and the project space let me to arrange and see my works properly.

A big thanks for the residency to @pssquaredbelfast and especially the fantastic support and priceless curatorial advice I received from Peter Mutschler.

The Arctic Circle Residency 2023 by Dorota Borowa

I'm delighted to share that my 6-year-old dream has come true as I have been selected to participate in the 2023 Arctic Circle Residency! I have always wanted to visit this alien, wild and beautiful landscape and it's especially pleasing to join the expedition given that there were a record number of applicants this year.

"The Arctic Circle brings together international artists of all disciplines, scientists, architects, and educators who collectively explore the high-Arctic Svalbard Archipelago and Arctic Ocean aboard a specially outfitted Barquentine sailing vessel."

TELEPHONE by Dorota Borowa

TELEPHONE is a project organised by an incredible team led by Nathan Langston. It started last year in March with one message, a quote from Mike Shanahan, writer and editor with a doctorate in rainforest ecology. The message travelled to six artists who created artworks in response to it. Then the works (without the quote) were assigned to another group of artists to inspire other pieces of art and so on. Last year during our first lockdown a work arrived also at my studio in Ireland and I contributed my piece. The 'encrypted' quote travelled over 7 millions of kilometers, and was passed on nearly 1000 times. The message was revealed to all participants last Saturday! TELEPHONE was an amazing experiment, run on a global scale, which required significant and passionate dedication. I recommend checking out the result of this project which is an online exhibition of many forms of art.
